You are sure to have your own ideas for your wedding breakfast and other catering as well as a budget to work with! With this in mind we offer a choice between using a caterer (catered service) or doing it yourselves (home service).
We have experience working with couples who have opted for a low-budget DIY style option right through to formal silver service catering. We can usually accommodate you, whatever your idea - BBQ, hog roast, picnic hampers, fish and chip van, paella evening, thai curry night, cream teas, ice cream parlour, self-service buffets, formal served hot meals. Please see our useful links for suppliers that couples have used in the past.
You can either choose your own caterer or we can suggest a caterer. The caterer would be responsible for all of the arrangements, including supplying the food and serving staff, crockery/cutlery hire, glass hire for the tables, table linen and refrigeration plant/service marquee for food preparation, if required. We have a limited area for plating up of food but no food preparation facilities on site. If the caterer requires access to the site prior to 18.00hrs on the day before your wedding you will need to organise for extended access to the venue. Any caterers who have not previously catered at Weddings in the Wood must make an appointment with the wedding co-ordinator to arrange a site visit to ensure they understand the venue facilities and can provide an accurate quote. All caterers must supply the appropriate certificates including public liability insurance.
This is for clients who wish to do their own catering. With this option you would need to make all the arrangements yourselves for crockery, cutlery, serving staff, table linen and refrigeration plant. We can provide glassware for 120 guests as well as water jugs for the tables. This must be pre-booked. We have a limited catering service area, where food can be plated up, but we do not provide a food preparation area. This option is particularly suitable for couples considering a less formal breakfast such as picnic hampers or a bbq/hog roast. We have a number of drum-style charcoal bbqs available that can be lit for you by our staff using your charcoal. You will need to supply your own chefs and bbq tools.
Tables, chairs and covers
We have 120 bistro chairs and 12 round tables and a number of trestle tables and benches. You can arrange to hire chair covers/cushions if desired through a catering supply company. We can supply rustic picnic style tables with benches for use outdoors. Straw bales for informal seating may also be hired, subject to availability.
You may see gaps in the calendar but the site is not available for weddings on these dates. Please note that although we try to keep this calendar up to date we can not guarantee availability of dates. Please do not make any arrangements until availabilty has been confirmed.
